About Diana
I am running for the San Mateo County Democratic Central Committee, which will be on the ballot in March 2024. I grew up in Redwood City, I attended public schools in Redwood City, and I live in the house I grew up in and where I raised my kids. My parents were teachers, and my father served as Dean of Boys at the now gone San Carlos High School and as Principal at Menlo-Atherton High School, and Carlmont High School. They were very active in the community. Though I regret I didn’t inherit the artist talents of my mother, I am grateful that I embraced the social justice passions of my father. He had this loving curiosity and respect for people and cultures that were different from ours. During my working life I served the Board of Trustees and Superintendent of Sequoia Union High School District. Teachers having difficulty finding housing incentivized my leaving my job and working full time on housing advocacy. I was a leader and twice Co-Chair of Peninsula Interfaith Action (now Faith in Action) and learned the fine skills of community organizing. I continue to advocate for members of underrepresented or marginalized communities.
